As of now, my personal statistics show that Tencent holds 17 U.S. listed companies and two French listed companies, with a total market value of $67.3 billion, approximately 491.4 billion RMB.
The top five holdings are: Pinduoduo $27.16 billion, Universal Music Group $11.39 billion, Sea $6.89 billion, Spotify $4.98 billion, Snap $4.09 billion.
In the same period last year, Tencent held 19 U.S. and French listed companies, with no change in the holdings, and a market value of $42.1 billion, approximately 307.4 billion RMB. Over the past year, the market value of U.S. and French stock holdings increased by 60%.
Over the past year, Tencent reduced its holdings in two companies:
Nubank: Holdings decreased from 282 million shares last year to 245 million shares, with the stake reduced from 6% to 5.1%. Based on the average price over the past year, it is estimated that approximately $330 million was cashed out.
Nio: Holdings decreased from 164 million shares last year to 124 million shares, with the stake reduced from 9.7% to 5.9%, cashing out $350 million.
The two reductions cashed out a total of $680 million, approximately 5.3 billion HKD, enough for five days of buybacks.
Over the past year, Tencent increased its holdings in one company:
Didi: Holdings increased from 315 million shares last year to 322 million shares, with the stake rising from 6.5% to 6.6%.
