Geely Automobile Group CEO Gan Jiayue recently mentioned at an internal meeting that the company will launch a new generation of self-developed and self-produced "blade-type" lithium iron phosphate battery - the Shen Dun short blade battery by the end of June. The new battery has achieved technological breakthroughs in safety, cycle life, fast-charging capability, and low-temperature discharge performance.
The new generation Shen Dun short blade battery achieves higher safety through a shorter and more compact design, further improving the flexibility of the overall battery pack layout. At the same time, it increases the energy density of the "blade-type" lithium iron phosphate battery to nearly 200Wh/kg. The new battery will be first installed in the new pure-electric SUV model "Galaxy E5".
