South Korean battery manufacturer SK On is preparing to start transforming its product design by building a pilot production line for prismatic batteries at its Daejeon research center, focusing on traditional top-tab prismatic batteries; SK On is also developing a side-tab prismatic battery, similar to Honeycomb's short-blade battery and BYD's blade battery. This design helps improve energy density and enables module-free solutions.
