Here is the main text:
If we take economic destruction as the goal of economic development, the absurd policies of recent years suddenly make sense. The digital yuan, the revival of supply and marketing cooperatives, the withdrawal of foreign capital, the decline of private enterprises, and the soaring local debt—these seemingly unrelated phenomena actually paint a clear picture. They are not mistakes but deliberate steps toward a more centralized and controlled economic model. This model isn’t in a hurry to take shape overnight; it quietly waits for the right moment. When the time comes, it will be fully implemented without hesitation.
The digital yuan is the most potent tool of control, though it remains in the experimental phase. This currency paves the way for financial innovation, but its true potential lies not in payment efficiency but in its ability to eliminate the privacy of economic activity. In the past, cash provided a degree of anonymity in transactions, allowing some freedom in the market. The digital yuan, however, ensures complete transparency in fund flows. The government hasn’t rolled it out nationwide yet, but once needed, it can swiftly replace cash and reshape the entire economic system. At that point, any opposition, resistance, or even simple "evasion" will be stifled at the source, as people will lose all financial privacy and freedom.
Similarly, the revival of supply and marketing cooperatives is no accident or historical relic—it’s a carefully arranged experiment. It’s being reintroduced on a small scale, disguised as a nostalgic "service to rural areas." But who remembers the true function of these institutions? They were designed to monopolize the distribution of goods. Once supply and marketing cooperatives prove capable of replacing market mechanisms in certain regions—just as they did during the planned economy era—they can be expanded nationwide. This system doesn’t just mean a regression in efficiency; it means the death of the market. It’s not a supplement to modern logistics but a testing ground for a planned economy. When the time is right, resource allocation will once again fall into the hands of centralized power.
The authorities aren’t rushing to implement this model outright but are laying the groundwork step by step. The digital yuan and supply and marketing cooperatives are like swords placed on a shelf—they aren’t being used now, but they’ll be wielded when needed. The withdrawal of foreign capital and the decline of private enterprises are clearing the path for this system. The weaker the remnants of market freedom, the less resistance there will be when these control measures are fully enforced.
The ballooning local debt, the property market bubble fueled by land finance, and the repeated exploitation of naive investors in the capital market may seem chaotic, but they’re actually rehearsals for highly centralized economic control. Through these maneuvers, wealth is continuously funneled into the core circles of power, and the concentration of social wealth lays the foundation for total economic control in the future. The bubble won’t be popped easily—its existence isn’t an economic mistake but a means for power to accumulate resources.
The core logic of this model is to dismantle the foundations of the market economy step by step through experiments, replacing market freedom with control. Though the digital yuan and supply and marketing cooperatives haven’t been fully deployed, their mere presence serves as a warning to the market—what appear to be tentative arrangements are actually deliberate preparations for the return of a planned economy. Once the party decides the time is right, the last remnants of market freedom will be swiftly eradicated.
Economic restructuring and political control are advancing in tandem. The omnipresence of surveillance cameras, restrictions on movement, and comprehensive censorship are steadily eroding societal freedoms. Once economic experimentation tools merge with political surveillance methods, society will descend into total control. Individuals will lose not only economic autonomy but also collective power, reduced to isolated, atomized existences.
By now, you might think the author is insane. Perhaps today, the digital yuan is still just a pilot program, and supply and marketing cooperatives are merely nostalgic "arrangements" in some rural areas. But their very existence is a hint: these tools can become reality at any moment. When they are fully deployed, the remnants of free markets and individual economic rights will be swept away. This isn’t a temporary adjustment but a deliberate, slowly unfolding power project. Right now, these weapons are still being sharpened—but one day, they will shatter the last defenses of a free economy.
