First, they used the ES8 and the L90 at low prices to secure a large number of orders, making people mistakenly believe Nio is making a comeback, thereby driving up the stock price. In reality, the low prices would result in gross margins far below industry standards. Nio never intended to make money from low prices; instead, they used a loss-leading strategy to hype up Nio's stock, then followed up with a secondary offering to cash in. Isn't this way of making money much faster than selling a few cars?
