After the combat video of Zhongqing Robot T800 was released, I saw a question that has been discussed a lot: why do these companies insist on "humanoid" robots?

Originally, I also thought that "humanoid" was a gimmick or a limitation of human thinking. Functionally speaking, the robots widely used on assembly lines are actually robotic arms 🦾, which are very cost-effective for large-scale production enterprises (such as Tesla's car production line).

But yesterday, I saw a viewpoint supporting humanoid robots. They believe that modern factories are designed based on the height and range of movement of adults. If robotic arms are used, a comprehensive transformation of the production line is required, and the cost of redesigning and rebuilding would be higher than purchasing general-purpose humanoid robots.

What do you think of these two viewpoints? Should robots resemble humans? Feel free to discuss~
