Donald Trump will start the final round of interviews for the new Federal Reserve Chairman today, with candidates including Warsh, Waller, Bowman, Riedl, and Hassett.
Although Hassett is currently the most popular candidate, it's not a 100% certainty. Moreover, recent market reactions suggest that Hassett is seen as lacking independence due to his close ties with Trump, raising concerns that he might aggressively cut interest rates once in office, leading to a resurgence of U.S. inflation.
The recent surge in U.S. Treasury yields also reflects market concerns.
