Oracle delays OpenAI data center completion to 2028
According to sources, due to labor and material shortages, Oracle has postponed several OpenAI-related data center projects from 2027 to 2028. These facilities are part of a $300 billion OpenAI computing power supply agreement between the two companies. Although both companies declined to comment, Oracle co-CEO Clay Magouirk stated that the project timeline remains ambitious, noting that the first OpenAI data center in Abilene, Texas, is progressing as planned, with over 96,000 NVIDIA chips already delivered.
