Total AssetsWhy are Chinese businesses so exhausting: Because we spend 80% of our energy on building trust—drinking heavily, boasting, and calling each other brothers. Essentially, it's due to the lack of a credit system, forcing us to rely on personal connections to hedge against default risks.
This is highly inefficient. Look at the logic of Jewish merchants: Their civilization began with a covenant (Covenant) signed with God—even the divine must abide by the terms, let alone humans. The foundation of Western commerce isn't personal favors but black-and-white contracts, not 'bottoms-up to show deep bonds' but high costs for breaching agreements.
As long as you still obsess over circles and connections instead of respecting rules and laws, your business will never grow big.
