The impact of this news release is not significant enough, mainly because the early stage has already done enough damage.

I tend to think this is another TACO, just not as obvious.$Unitedhealth(UNH.US)

The comments section is much better than Futu's.

Since many people are not in this industry and don't understand how insurance companies operate, simply put, insurance pricing is based on national life tables and morbidity rates. It's not arbitrarily set. In short, it's related to medical expenses. And I remember the US requires insurance companies to pay out at least 85% or 80% of premiums (I forgot which) in claims😂

Simply put, there was a period in China where domestic alternatives were used to save costs, especially for certain implantable medical devices where imports were prohibited. As a result, some children's hospitals in Guizhou simply stopped performing surgeries.

What do you think the probability is that a domestic big shot saying "medical costs must be halved" would succeed? If achieved, how rampant would counterfeit drugs become?

If even China can't do it, what's the probability the US could?

We'll know by Monday's drop - if it really drops 50%, United's profit margin would become disastrous. Probably can't even hold at $200, and surely some will take the opportunity to sell off on Friday. But if institutions truly believe it, they'd flee even at -10% on Friday. So if Monday's drop is within 1-2%, institutions don't believe it's possible. It's just opportunistic selling. If it drops over 5%, well... turns out America is the communist one.
