
$iShares barclays 20+ Yr Treasury Bd(TLT.US) The East reduced its holdings of US bonds by $11.8 billion in October, bringing the total down to $688.7 billion. The peak was in 2013 with $1.31 trillion in US bonds, and each purchase coincided with large US arms sales to Taiwan. The current strategy is to reduce US bond holdings to suppress US-Taiwan arms sales, gradually and steadily, with rapid reductions in emergencies. Canada reduced its US bond holdings by $56.7 billion in October.
