"Santa Claus Rally" Ready to Go, Setting an Optimistic Tone for U.S. Stocks in 2026?
The upward momentum of U.S. stocks seemed to stall in early December, remaining nearly flat by the last full trading week of the year. However, analysts say this doesn't mean the much-anticipated "Santa Claus Rally" won't happen.
The "Santa Claus Rally" refers to a seasonal trend where, historically, the stock market tends to rise during the last five trading days of December and the first two trading days of January.
This year, the rally is set to begin on December 24 (Christmas Eve). If the year-end rally materializes as expected, it could set the tone for the new year—investors are currently debating how much longer this three-year bull market can last.
