Don't stubbornly hold onto losing positions, but also don't be afraid to hold them. You made money shorting first, then came back to short and got beaten up.
You held the long position until it was down 50%, then averaged down. Persistence is victory.
Sometimes when the trend is wrong, you should cut your losses. Sometimes, when it can't fall any further, you should hold your long position. Don't fall just before dawn!
Don't be greedy. Protecting your principal is most important. Survive. Not losing is winning.
