From "Optics+" to "AI+": How Sunny Optical's 100-Billion-Yuan Plan Comes to Light

As the AI wave reshapes industries at an unprecedented pace, a fundamental yet crucial question emerges: in an era of accelerating integration between the digital and physical worlds, how can machines "see" and "understand" the reality we inhabit?

Sunny Optical Technology's latest 2025 annual financial report is providing an answer to this question.

According to the company's 2025 annual results announcement released on March 30, the company achieved total annual revenue of approximately RMB 43.23 billion, a year-on-year increase of 12.9%; net profit attributable to shareholders reached approximately RMB 4.64 billion, a year-on-year increase of 71.9%.

From the current revenue scale of about RMB 43.2 billion to the target of RMB 100 billion in sales by 2030, Sunny Optical Technology has set a challenging growth curve for itself.

This means the company needs to more than double its revenue scale within the next five years.

Looking at its actions over the past year, Sunny Optical is attempting to complete two transformations to support this growth curve.

At the business level, its product line is extending from optical components to intelligent optical system solutions, following the development of artificial intelligence, pursuing both capabilities simultaneously. At the capital level, the capital value brought by system integration and platform-based operations, along with business value, is being re-evaluated and priced by the market.

Optics + AI, Anchoring the Future of "Perception and Interaction"

"70% of human information is obtained through the eyes. In the future, various machines and devices will also need 'optical eyes' to perceive the physical world."

This is the assertion of Sunny Optical Technology's CEO, Wang Wenjie, about the future, and it is also driving the transformation process of optical technology from seeing the world clearly—understanding the world—to participating in action.

In Sunny Optical's logic, the next wave of AI is "Physical AI," which will achieve the leap from "predicting the next word" in the virtual world to "predicting the next scene" in the real world.

In this direction, Sunny Optical is trying to extend its capability boundaries from hardware like lenses and modules to algorithm capabilities, NPU/DPU integration, and system-level solutions, building a more complete product chain.

At CES 2026, Sunny Optical, with the theme of "End-to-End AI Vision Solutions," systematically showcased its full-chain hardware capabilities from optical components and lens modules to complete terminal products for the first time, demonstrating the evolution and implementation of AI vision in diverse scenarios.

For example, in the robotics field, Sunny Optical showcased complete solutions ranging from precision structured light projection modules and 3D ToF sensors to panoramic vision systems. The on-site robot demo, equipped with the "Wise Eyes" provided by Sunny Optical, achieved real-time grasping and path planning, completing autonomous operations from disordered sorting to complex assembly.

In the smart automotive field, Sunny Optical provides a complete in-vehicle vision closed-loop covering perception, interaction, and display, including cutting-edge LiDAR emission/reception lenses, high-definition in-vehicle lenses, HUD optical modules, and integrated DMS/OMS vision systems for smart cockpits, covering multiple application scenarios from L2+ to higher-level autonomous driving.

This showcase of "full-chain" capabilities is not merely to "flex its muscles," but to reshape Sunny Optical's role and value positioning in the industry chain—no longer just taking orders from brand owners, but proactively providing complete solutions for customers, co-defining products, and achieving value co-creation.

The Realistic Support for the New Trillion-Yuan Plan

Achieving the new target of RMB 100 billion in sales by 2030 is not a simple goal for Sunny Optical Technology, which currently has an annual revenue of around RMB 40 billion. However, from the market prospects of AI+ optics, it is not unattainable.

As the "eyes of machines," the certain growth brought by optics in the AI era is building a new vast market.

First is the growth of in-vehicle optics. With the accelerated penetration of L3 and above-level autonomous driving functions, the demand for autonomous driving sensing tools is also increasing day by day. According to MarketsandMarkets forecasts, the global automotive camera market size is expected to grow from $8.38 billion in 2025 to $15.03 billion in 2032, with a compound annual growth rate of 8.7%.

Second is the AI glasses track. Citigroup previously predicted that by 2030, global smart glasses shipments will be about 112 million units, with a market size reaching $40 billion.

Finally, embodied intelligence. As robots like Tesla's Optimus and Figure 01 begin to enter factories, an era of robots replacing human labor and reshaping productivity has already begun.

Facing these three new golden tracks, the question is no longer whether the market exists, but who can seize it.

And Sunny Optical has made layouts in all three of these tracks.

Sunny Optical Technology CEO Wang Wenjie believes that after the development of artificial intelligence, product boundaries are constantly being broken, and many new categories require the use of light, which gives Sunny Optical a great opportunity. "We can seize these opportunities well, let optical technology serve artificial intelligence, let optical technology serve human development, and expand the boundaries of human capabilities. Currently, we have already achieved the number one position in many global niche markets. In the future, we can leverage our integration capabilities to make the transformation successful."

Behind this is the strategic upgrade from "seeing the world clearly" to "understanding the world and participating in execution." As Wang Wenjie said, from optical perception to optical interconnection, optical communication, optical computing, optical storage, and optical display, the deep integration of hardware advantages and software algorithm capabilities continuously gives rise to new industries and new opportunities.

From "Optics +" to "AI+", Sunny Optical is transforming future possibilities into real growth step by step with a strategic determination of "planning before acting."
