Amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East and expectations of Fed rate hikes, if US stocks rise 3% this week and fall 4% next week, I think the biggest losers would be option buyers. Even if you buy leap calls, if they are out-of-the-money, the capital tied up and the rollercoaster feeling are really hard to bear. If the whole of 2026 is like this, US stocks will just lie flat.
