These things don't change the underlying logic; in fact, they strengthen it. What we should really be afraid of is innovation, breakthroughs, and revolutionary new technologies that no longer require strong computing power and HBM. As long as the underlying architecture remains transformer, none of this will change. Unless one day, architectures like Mamba with linear attention make a breakthrough—that would be a real scary story.
