Also, don't really listen to what all the 'big shots' say. Don't follow Xiaohongshu KOLs or big Vs and treat them as contrarian indicators to guide your trades. First, you aren't an institution; you lack statistical data on the correlation or correlation coefficient between a big V's posts and stock prices. Second, big Vs make money from traffic. A single promotional post might earn them hundreds of thousands of yuan. They post about the stock market purely to ride the hype. Not to mention that their portfolio screenshots might be fake anyway. Even if they lose money, it's just a matter for them to post another ad or host another livestream. It's fine to treat it as entertainment and joke around, but I see many friends in the comments sections of these big Vs executing buy/sell operations very seriously, which is a very unwise approach.

The market has been terrible lately. I only ever do day trades, taking a few points profit and exiting immediately, never holding overnight. My positions are always flat at both the open and close of trading. This way, I can sleep well, and I don't have to worry about the market crashing hard at the open and getting trapped again.

Recently, there's been slightly more news about Teacher Duan Yongping. Actually, I don't really like 'A-Duan'. He made a huge fortune speculating on NetEase with a 60x return, yet now he goes around preaching value investing. As someone with small capital myself, I deeply understand how painful and uncomfortable it is to be trapped in a bear market. Big players can practice value investing because they have a constant stream of cash flow; when the bull market comes, they might make tens of millions. What can small retail investors hope to earn? Of course, I'm not suggesting everyone go gamble on weekly options or anything like that. I just think it's fine for us small retail investors to practice value investing in a bull market, but constantly averaging down in a bear market might not be the best approach.
