When I first saw the RMB appreciating, I thought Xiaomi must have a significant amount of RMB assets? Who knew they were shorting the RMB to hold foreign currency? The devaluation in their foreign currency holdings was severe, resulting in massive losses.
It depends more on energy prices; when oil prices rise, Xiaomi falls, and when oil prices fall, Xiaomi drops even harder.
