Tesla$特斯拉.US 行政總裁馬斯克（Elon Musk）周一（6 日）與蒙古總理奧雲額爾登（Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene）舉行視像會議，討論投資蒙古的可能性。據代表蒙古政府發表的一份聲明指，雙方討論了歡迎特斯拉在蒙古建立電動車電池工廠的可能性，利用該國豐富的銅和稀土元素，這些元素都是電動車電池的重要組成部分。
聲明指出，蒙古政府致力於與國際組織合作，幫助促進新技術的發展，提高對該國的投資。蒙古政府內閣秘書處的一份聲明補充說，該國總理強調他支持使用電動車，並敦促國民用電動車。
雙方亦談到將由馬斯克創辦的 SpaceX 公司營運的衛星通訊終端和服務提供商 Starlink 帶到蒙古，Starlink 於去年在蒙古註冊為一家公司。
