Manulife strengthens cooperation with CUHK Medical Centre to incorporate tissue fragmentation technology into treatment options
Manulife announced the strengthening of its strategic partnership with the Chinese University of Hong Kong Medical Centre, incorporating the innovative tissue fragmentation technology into its comprehensive "Healthcare Specialist Support Service" designed for clients with confirmed or suspected cancer under Manulife's designated medical insurance plans. This service will commence once the tissue fragmentation technology becomes available for public use at CUHK Medical Centre, at which point relevant patients will need to participate in clinical trials for close monitoring and evaluation of clinical outcomes.
Tissue fragmentation technology is an FDA-approved technique that provides a non-invasive, painless, and efficient treatment option for liver cancer patients. The Li Ka Shing Foundation previously introduced this treatment technology to medical institutions in Hong Kong through donations. The coverage for all Manulife medical insurance plan clients includes tissue fragmentation technology, further enhancing protection for clients.
In 2021, Manulife established a strategic partnership with CUHK Medical Centre to offer eligible clients a free personal medical consultation. Subsequently, in 2023, both parties further expanded their cooperation, with Manulife providing pre-approval services for over 300 all-inclusive medical packages offered by the hospital, including endoscopic examination procedures and surgical procedures
