The Hang Seng Biotechnology Index increased by 4%. Several individual stocks performed strongly, such as Ark Health rising 11% and MicroPort Medical rising 10%. Bank of China Hong Kong and Jihai Resources rose over 6% and 13%, respectively. In contrast, Chaoyujian Ophthalmology and Evergrande Property saw declines of 13% and 4.4%, respectively

Alibaba (09988) surged over 17% after earnings, with cloud business growth and capital expenditure exceeding expectations in the first fiscal quarter.
The Hang Seng Biotechnology Index continued to rise by 4%. Among the index constituents, Ark Health (06086) rose by 11%; MicroPort Medical (00853) rose by 10%; Innovent Biologics rose by 9%.
Bank of China Hong Kong (02388) rose over 6% after earnings, with interim profit attributable to shareholders at HKD 22.12 billion, and net trading income increased year-on-year.
Jihai Resources (02489) rose over 13% after earnings, with net profit in the first half increasing nearly 10% year-on-year; the company is the third-largest gold mining company in Shandong.
AsiaInfo Technologies (01675) rose over 6%, with the company entering a long-term strategic partnership with Alibaba Cloud, expecting full-year profits to outperform last year.
Huajian Medical (01931) rose over 13% again, planning to spend over HKD 3.1 billion to acquire 20.31% of Guofu Quantum, continuing to promote the RWA ecosystem.
Helens (09869) rose over 12%, with net profit margin in the first half increasing to 17.8%, and the total number of stores has increased to 583.
