<p>LG Chem released a press release announcing that Toyota Tsusho has acquired a 25% stake in its Geumseong cathode materials plant (LG-HY BCM), becoming its second-largest shareholder. Toyota Tsusho is a comprehensive trading company of the Toyota Group and is the core company responsible for the procurement of raw materials for Toyota Motor. With the addition of Toyota Tsusho, the shareholding structure of LG Chem's Geumseong cathode materials plant has changed to: LG Chem 51%, Toyota Tsusho 25%, and Toyota Cobalt's stake has decreased from 49% to 24%. This allows Toyota Tsusho to meet the newly established PFE standards, thus complying with IRA regulations. Therefore, Toyota Tsusho plans to supply cathode materials produced by its Geumseong cathode materials plant to North American battery customers</p>
