"We (the deaf and mute) communicate very slowly with other classmates, so we developed this AI-assisted barrier-free communication software." On the Xinyu App, Zhang Hongming, a junior from Beijing Union University, typed while communicating with the reporter in real-time, demonstrating how the application transforms phone conversations into visual text and voice conversion. Subsequently, Zhang Hongming typed on the Xinyu App to show the reporter, "We have experienced rain mentally, so we also want to provide an umbrella for others through this App." This App, aimed at helping the hearing-impaired community communicate smoothly, is regarded as "the first AI-assisted barrier-free phone platform in the country." At the recently concluded finals and award ceremony of the 10th Mobile Application Innovation Competition co-hosted by Apple and Zhejiang University, Xinyu won the special prize in the Enlightenment track.
