The market anticipates that the meeting between the US and Chinese leaders will ease trade tensions, with the Dow Jones rising 144 points or 0.3% overnight, and the Nasdaq up 0.9%. Hong Kong stocks opened higher in the morning. The Hang Seng Index opened up 209 points or 0.8%, reporting at 26,177 points; the National Index opened up 79 points or 0.9%, reporting at 9,380 points; the Hang Seng Tech Index opened up 80 points or 1.4%, reporting at 6,032 points.

In the tech sector, Alibaba (09988.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) opened up 2.1% and 2.2%, respectively, while Tencent (00700.HK), Xiaomi (01810.HK), JD.com (09618.HK), and Baidu (09888.HK) opened up 0.8% to 0.9%. Meituan (03690.HK), NetEase (09999.HK), and Bilibili (09626.HK) opened up 1.1% to 1.5%.

The Fourth Plenary Session communiqué proposed accelerating high-level technological self-reliance and strength, with chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and Hua Hong (01347.HK) opening up 2.2% and 2.8%, respectively. Chip equipment stock ASMPT (00522.HK) opened up 2.2%, and personal computer manufacturer Lenovo Group (00992.HK) opened up 2%.

The Fourth Plenary Session communiqué proposed to persist in expanding domestic demand and vigorously boost consumption. In the consumption and domestic demand sector, Haier Smart Home (06690.HK), Trip.com (09961.HK), WH Group (00288.HK), and Nongfu Spring (09633.HK) opened up 1.4% to 1.9%.

In the financial sector, HSBC (00005.HK) opened down 0.1%, while Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (00388.HK) and AIA (01299.HK) opened up 1.5% and 0.7%, respectively. Futures gold rebounded by 2%, with Zijin Mining (02899.HK) and Zhaojin Mining (01818.HK) opening up 1.8% and 1.5%. Minmetals Land (00230.HK) announced a privatization offer at HKD 1 per share from its major shareholder, with the stock surging 91.8% to HKD 0.94
