美貿易委員會重啓 Apple Watch 進口調查 涉血氧測量功能專利爭議
The U.S. International Trade Commission decided on Friday to initiate a new procedure to determine whether the updated Apple Watch (AAPL.US) should be banned from import due to patent disputes, primarily investigating the patent conflict between Apple and medical monitoring technology company Masimo.
The Commission stated that the new investigation will examine whether Apple's recently redesigned Apple Watch, which was modified to circumvent a previous import ban, still infringes on Masimo's patents related to blood oxygen measurement technology. The Commission plans to complete the investigation within six months.
Masimo accused Apple of poaching its employees to steal pulse oximetry technology. In 2023, the Commission found that Apple's Series 9 and Ultra 2 watches infringed on Masimo's patents and banned their import. Apple had removed the blood oxygen measurement feature to avoid the ban but reintroduced the updated version of the technology after receiving approval from U.S. Customs in August this year
