Trump stated that the U.S. military budget should be $1.5 trillion in 2027
Former U.S. President Trump stated on social media that after negotiations with several political representatives, he has decided to increase the 2027 U.S. military budget from $1 trillion to $1.5 trillion to address the current crisis. He pointed out that the revenue generated from tariffs has made this budget target feasible
On January 7th, local time, U.S. President Trump stated on his social platform "Truth Social" that after negotiations with senators, representatives, ministers, and other political representatives, he decided that "in the interest of the country," especially during this "turbulent and crisis-ridden" period, the U.S. military budget for 2027 should not be $1 trillion, but $1.5 trillion.
Trump stated that this would allow them to build a stronger military. He mentioned that if it weren't for the "huge revenue" brought in by tariffs from other countries, he would have maintained the $1 trillion budget. However, due to tariffs and the resulting revenue, they are now able to easily reach a $1.5 trillion budget.
